A 101 carat diamond – the largest ever cut in Russian federation – to be auctioned off
Called the Alrosa Spectacle, the diamond is expected to fetch between 12 and eighteen million Swiss francs (S$26.44 1000000) when it goes nether the hammer at Christie's on May 12.

The largest diamond ever cutting in Russia – a 100.94 carat stone chosen the Alrosa Spectacle – will be auctioned in Geneva subsequently this month.
The diamond could fetch between 12 and 18 million Swiss francs (Due south$26.44 million) when it goes under the hammer at Christie's on May 12.
"This fantastic 100 carat D color diamond was cut from a crude stone that originally weighed more than than 200 carats. Information technology was chosen the Sergei Diaghilev rough diamond and it was mined in 2016," said Marie-Cecile Cisamolo, a specialist in the auction house'south jewellery department.
"Between the rough and diamond that we're offering today, it took one yr and 8 months to cut into this perfect stone."
The diamond is one of 144 lots on offering in the sale, which also includes rings, earrings, brooches and other pieces made with diamonds, sapphires and rubies.
